Several women who and children forced to scavenge in the garbage dump of La Chureca, in Nicaragua, share their stories in this film. While showing the devastating effects of globalization in a marginalized community, the film also reveals the courage and determination of this families to survive and educate their children.

Varias mujeres y niños que recolectan desperdicios en el basurero de la Chureca, en Nicaragua, comparten sus historias en este film. Al mismo tiempo que revela una imagen desvastadora de los efectos de la globalización en una comunidad marginal, el film también muestra la determinación de estas familias para sobrevivir y educar a sus hijos.

Life at this tiny section of the world begins at sunset and continues sometimes until midnight. The most valuable pieces of garbage are bottles, plastic, aluminum, paper, copper, and everything that could be sold at the local market or utilized at their houses for personal use.

La vida en este rincón del mundo comienza al alba y continúa a veces hasta la medianoche. Las piezas de basura mas valiosas son las botellas, plástico, aluminio, papel, cobre, y todo lo que se pueda vender en el mercado local or utilizarse en la casa para uso personal.

At the "Two Generations" Center

The Center Two Generations works with the families of La Chureca. Some of the children that work at the dump in the mornings then take music, dancing and theater lessons at the center.
